A 'DECORATE Your House for Christmas' contest was held in Prestatyn.
Prestatyn and Meliden Town Council were behind the idea.
The mayor of Prestatyn and Meliden Cllr Sharon Frobisher and her consort, Harriet Frobisher, judged the entrants and the results were:
- Runner Up The Woosnam Family
- Second Place The Reynolds Family
- First place and winners of this year’s competition was the Moore Family.
Cllr Frobisher said: "Myself and my consort were really overwhelmed with all the houses in Prestatyn and Meliden that had made the effort to brighten up the community in the lead up to Christmas.
"Well done to everyone involved."
Earlier in the month, cllr Frobisher and Harriet visited the Prestatyn and Meliden Foodbank depot at The Festival Church on Victoria Road.
They met with foodbank manager Heather Norris.
A total of 120 Christmas bags of food items and 'little extras' were being prepared for delivery on Thursday, December 23 to individuals and families stretching from Penyffordd to Rhyl – including Rhuddlan, Bodelwyddan, Meliden and Prestatyn. All items were donated from shops and businesses.
Cllr Frobisher was on hand to help with a delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables [donated by Pete Fletcher of the Apple Cart on Prestatyn High Street].
The Royal British Legion Bear (Richard Kendrick) also helped out.
