PRESTATYN'S annual festival of Christmas trees has sadly been cancelled - but an event is being held in its place.
The event, usually held at at Christ Church in Prestatyn, went virtual last year.
However, this year the Friends of Christ Church Prestatyn are hosting ‘Deck the Halls: A Delightful Christmas’ as a replacement.
Revd David Ash, vicar of Prestatyn, said: "The decision had to be made some months ago to cancel the festival for this year. Hopefully it can return in 2022 better than ever.
"Deck the Halls: A Delightful Christmas will be free to enter. It will be a Covid safe event utilising a one way system.
"The church shall be bedecked with decorations of many kinds including Nativity scenes from around the world and some wonderful banners on loan from the textile artist Jacqui Parkinson based around the words of the song ‘The Servant King.'
"These have previously been displayed in many large cathedrals throughout the UK.
"Also in church there will be a Teddy Tombola, a Christmas Tombola, a raffle and other fun things to do, such as adding a few coins to our Giant Snowflake," rev Ash added.
"Father Christmas has promised that he shall be visiting, so that young children can see him, have a photo opportunity and receive a selection box gift (tickets do need to be purchased for this).
"There will also be stalls of various Christmas gifts and crafts to peruse and buy."
Visitors and parishioners can also sit down with a hot or cold drink from the refreshments area.
Deck the Halls will be at Christ Church, Prestatyn, every Saturday from November 27 until Christmas (10.30am until 3.30pm, excluding December 18 which is from 1pm).
