RHYL & Distrcit RFC's youth side hosted Denbigh to play under the lights at Tynewydd Field.
Friday evening games are proving popular with a large crowd again present to enjoy the evening entertainment.
Rhyl youth were presented with new training tops by team sponsor NWPS Construction Ltd before to the game.
Once the game started both teams showed their intentions with the defences having to hold firm.
Rhyl number eight Paddy Nelson made many powerful runs at the Denbigh defence which led to Jack Walsh crossing for a try.
Denbigh fought back and a successful penalty reduced the gap to 5-3.
Tom Jones added a penalty to take Rhyl to the break leading 8-3.
The second half was again well balanced and even after Paddy Nelson was sin binned for 10 minutes, Denbigh could not break through the Rhyl lines.
In the final 10 minutes of the game Tom Jones spotted a gap and sprinted through to touch down under the posts. He converted this for the extra 2 points.
Rhyl deservedly won the game 15-3 and recorded there first win this season. The result will give them encouragement for future games.
