THE RNLI will ensure its all-weather lifeboats are in working order at Rhyl Lifeboat Station after a crew member passed out as a mechanic.
Colin Jones has taken on the role of Rhyl lifeboat deputy mechanic after completing a series of tests including fault finding, emergency steering and fire drills.
Mr Jones will work on the station's all-weather lifeboat, capable of high speed and can be operated safely in all weather conditions.
They are inherently self-righting after a capsize and fitted with navigation, location and communication equipment, which all need to be maintained.
Rhyl RNLI said: "Congratulations to crew member Colin Jones, who successfully passed out as an RNLI Shannon Class Mechanic."
"The mechanic plays a key role on an All-Weather Lifeboat."
