A SERVICE of celebration will be held for “Rhyl legend” Les Harker, who died at the age of 81.

Les, the popular owner of Les Harkers Amusements & Bingo, died last month following a “brave battle” with leukaemia after being diagnosed at the start of the pandemic, his family said.

A funeral will be held on Monday, September 6 with a procession and service of celebration taing place on the day.

The procession will leave Rhuddlan at 12pm, travelling along Rhuddlan Road, Vale Road, Bodfor Street and Queen Street, arriving outside his Amusement Arcade at about 12.20pm for a few minutes’ pause. Anyone wishing to pay their respects outside may do so.

The procession will then proceed down Water Street and along Wellington Road, Russell Road and Brighton Road to Rhyl Football Club, where a service of celebration will be held at 1pm.

Gates will open at 12pm

Everyone is welcome to join the family at this service, which will be followed by a private family cremation.
