IT WAS clear that a woman was “petrified” by the threatening behaviour of a man in a neighbouring flat, a judge commented.
She’d said in an impact statement: “I’m afraid to be in my own home.”
Logan Robert Bancroft, 21, of Water Street, Rhyl, was jailed for a total of 34 weeks, which includes 16 weeks for breaching a restraining order.
He pleaded guilty at Llandudno court to harassment which put Alesi Davies in fear of violence between the end of January and last week.
Bancroft also admitted possessing cannabis. District Judge Gwyn Jones said that that although some may not take cannabis seriously it was not the case when it had an impact on mental health.
Prosecuting, Diane Williams said that at the end of January Bancroft had kicked and smashed his neighbour’s front door.
He sent a text asking her not to make a complaint then subsequently verbally abused and threatened her.
For Bancroft it was stated that he was now leaving his flat to live with his grandmother in Llandudno. He had found it difficult to live alone during lockdown.
Judge Jones told him: “It is clear you have not taken the help you have been offered and you are still taking drugs.”
He imposed a five-year restraining order banning any direct or indirect contact with the complainant, including inciting anyone else to comment on social media.
