A spokesperson from Conwy Council said: "With the move to high risk alert level four, we’ve reviewed our risk assessments for each of our public toilets. Using this information, we’ve decided to close some of our facilities for the safety of the public and our staff. The closed toilets have shared spaces with no controls over how many people can access them at one time, which means increased risks for social distancing and hygiene with touching common surfaces such as taps, flush handles, and door handles."
The local authority said they will be using two person teams to speed up cleaning and toilets are cleaned a minimum of three times a day.
Where toilet blocks are small, only one person is allowed in at a time.
Signs to show where users should wait and which way to walk have been installed.
Some of the urinals, sinks and cubicles are blocked off
