THE family of the teenager who died following a road traffic collision on the A55 last weekend have paid tribute to him.
17-year-old Ethan Ross sadly following the two-vehicle collision on the A55 near St Asaph on Saturday, which involved a scooter and a Vauxhall Astra.
His family have issued the following tribute to him: “Helen, Paul, Callum and family would like to thank everyone who have and are supporting us through this difficult time.
“We would like to especially thank the emergency department at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, North Wales Air Ambulance, the Paramedics and Rapid Response Team, North Wales Police and most of all the amazing compassionate team of nurses, doctors and support staff on the Critical Care Unit including the incredible dedicated Donor Family Care Service all at Royal Stoke University Hospital who all took the best care of Ethan and ourselves.
“We are all totally devastated and our hearts ache so very much for the loss of our beautiful, selfless, kind, caring, determined, quiet, gifted, Chelsea FC loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, Nephew, Boyfriend, friend Ethan. He made us burst with pride every single day.
“Ethan’s legacy will live on as he was able to donate his organs and give the most precious thing of all, a gift of life to others. There are not enough words to write how much we are all going to miss him. The world will be an emptier place without him in it. He will be forever our hero - Ethan we love you.”
Police continue to appeal for any witnesses to the collision which occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 near junction 26 for the St Asaph Business Park.
Ethan, who was travelling on the scooter, was airlifted to hospital in Stoke but sadly died on Monday.
Leading the investigation, Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts and sympathies remain with Ethan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“The investigation is underway and we continue to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision or who was travelling in the vicinity and who has dash cam footage to contact us.”
