THE captain of a golf club has thanked the public and readers for helping a course return to pristine shape.
In April, there was upset after dog owners, walkers and cyclists took advantage of the Prestatyn Golf Club site during lockdown.
The course was damaged and bags, containing dog mess, were being left in bunkers and bushes.
Dale Milne, captain for 2020, has thanked the public for their support - and for adhering to the boundaries of the course - following an article in the Journal.
He said: "The green staff report there has been a dramatic decrease in walkers on the course and this, in turn, has definitely improved the mess that was being left behind.

"As the course is now open for members we are now increasing staffing levels to get the course back up to championship status for hopefully what we believe will be a fantastic couple of years ahead.
"The club is currently letting children up to the age of 16 to join as a member for free which will hopefully help with the current situation we find ourselves.
"Thank you to the Journal for publishing the article and the general public for reading it and taking everything on board."
