A PRESTATYN cafe is serving up cups of kindness after launching a scheme to help the community in memory of its former owner.
Kim Graham, who ran Kim’s Kitchen, died of breast cancer last October, aged just 51.
Now, staff at the Prestatyn High Street cafe have started a ‘suspended coffee scheme’ to thank the community for its support.
The initiative allows customers to buy an extra coffee, tea, or plate of food, which is marked on a board.
It is then made available to anyone who is struggling, and needs a meal or a drink.
Helen Wright, who now runs the cafe said: “Our owner Kim sadly passed away last October after a long brave fight with cancer.
“We were shown so much support from the local businesses and community through what was a very hard time we wanted to make a difference and do something to put back into the community.
“We recently received an amazing donation from the charity “Belief” of £100 and the generosity of our customers has been overwhelming.
“We’d like to let everyone know the scheme is for anyone who is struggling and we are discrete. Anyone in need just has to mention the board when ordering.”
On Monday, March 2, the cafe also launched a Senior Supper Club, providing a hot dinner, pudding and drink for £6.95, every Monday at 5pm.
The cafe hopes it can help any seniors feeling lonely by providing home cooked food and a chat. To book ring 01745 853835 (limited places).
A meals on wheels service is planned and there is a 20% discount for Blue Card Holders and it is Dementia Friendly.
