FANS flocked in their droves to the first Dark Side Comic Con hosted by actor Spencer Wilding.
Packing into the venue at Ffrith Park, Prestatyn, on Saturday, August 10, television, film and sci-fi fans embraced the chance to meet face to face with star guests such as Rocketman and R2D2 actor Jimmy Vee and actor and stuntman Arie Dekker - best known for his role as Chewbacca’s stunt double in Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker - and television, stage and film actor Christopher Patrick Nolan star of TVs White Gold and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.
Lee Charles, an ex-professional footballer turned actor, also attended as well as Paul Warren, actor, puppeteer and stuntman.
Rhyl’s Spencer, who starred as Darth Vader in Star Wars Rogue One, delighted visitors by posing for photographs.
He revealed to the Journal that his latest production is Carnival Row - a fantasy drama series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne. The series will launch on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, August 30 2019.
The Comic Con was held in association with Rhyl Comic Shop and Prestatyn-based Garden Den.
Spencer said: “It was such a nice turn out. I don’t know if there was hundreds of visitors, but there was a constant flow. It was good to see lots of good friends.
“I brought the guests and Stuart Stevenson from Rhyl Comic Shop did the work.
“All the guests were friends. Jimmy Vee came down - he was last here when we did the Rhyl Star Wars event.
“It was great and there was not one negative comment."
He added: "My next project is Carnival Row - but I can't tell you who I'm playing yet!"
