One of the largest gymnastic clubs in North Wales has achieved an 100% pass rate - despite having no dedicated facility.
All entries of Gray’s Gymnastics Club who attended the North Wales Gymnastics Regional in Deeside Gymnastics Club finished in the top six of each grade, with three members being selected to represent North Wales in Welsh finals in Llanelli next weekend.
Hannah Rushton, head coach, said: “We are very proud of all the girls that entered into this competition, it is fantastic for the club to come out with 100 percent pass rate.
Llandudno’s seven year old Molly Lundstram and Rhuddlan’s Gabrielle Mincevic and Colwyn Height’s Macie Smith, both nine, qualified to represent North Wales at the competition.
Miss Rushton said: “Gabriele and Macie both represented North Wales at last year’s Welsh Grades finals, but for Molly this was only her second North Area Competition. To make a Welsh final the first time, at just seven years old, is fantastic.”
“I am so proud of all of the girls.”
The club, which has operated in leisure centres throughout Conwy and Denbighshire for more than 30 years without a dedicated facility, covers one of the largest geographical areas of any club in North Wales.
Miss Rushton added: “The fact that the club is achieving success in Regional competitions, and having gymnasts qualify for Welsh finals, without a dedicated gymnastics facility like all other clubs in North Wales have is amazing.
The three girls will compete in the welsh finals on Saturday, April 14 in Llanelli.
