RHYL’S Carol Vorderman spoke about her dreams of becoming the ninth woman to fly solo around the world during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
The former Countdown star, who obtained her pilot’s licence two years ago, also spoke to presenters Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard about romance rumours between her and campmate Joel Dommett and what it was like taking part in Big Bush Bake Off.
The 55-year-old, an ex-Ysgol Mair and Blessed Edward Jones Catholic High School pupil, has just returned from Australia after starring in I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
Ben asked the TV presenter why she refused to eat a live scorpion during the show.
Carol said: “I had already munched my way through turkey testicles, turkey macaroons in the Big Bush Bake Off.”
An excited Susanna also asked Carol what her feeling were towards comedian Joel.
“I did like him but not that way,” Carol said. “Joel is great and we are good buddies but I am two years older than his mother.”
Susanna joked that age ‘is just a number.’
Earlier this year, the Journal reported that the former Loose Women presenter was to attempt a solo flight around the world. This was expected to be filmed as part of her new television show titled Carol’s Incredible Solo Flight Around The World.
The flight was delayed after modifications to her aircraft. Carol confirmed that she will carry out the journey next May/June.
