Winifred MULLEN – JAMES
MULLEN JAMES Winifred (Win) Passed away suddenly but peacefully at Glan Clwyd Hospital on the 1st May 2024 aged 79 years. Much loved Wife to Alan, devoted Mother and Mother-in-Law to Catherine, Rob, Jon and Emma. Treasured Nana to Jen, Oliver, Will and Lily. Win was a retired state registered nurse who worked tirelessly for local Community, supporting many organisations and charities. Win joined the Town Council in 2008 and has been serving the residents of Trellewelyn Ward ever since, with care, understanding and absolute respect. She became Mayor of Rhyl in 2011 and again in 2019. Win was proud to serve as an elected member of Denbighshire County Council as a Lead Member for Local Development and Planning. She was a valued member of Cabinet and also sat on the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Joint Committee, Licensing Committee and Planning Committee. Win will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral service is to take place on Friday 24th May at St Thomas' Church, Rhyl at 10.30am followed by a private family committal. It was Win's wishes that those attending are to wear bright colours and the ladies are to wear a hat if they choose, she always wanted her memorial service to be a celebration of her life, not a mourning of her passing. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Win will be gratefully accepted for the North Wales Woman's Centre and St Thomas' church, both very close to her heart. https://winifredmullen-james.muchloved.com/ All enquires to Tongs Funeralcare, 56 Brighton Road, Rhyl LL18 3HG Tel: 01745 334684
