DOUGLAS SWAYNE HUGHES Of Victoria, Australia and formerly of Rhyl, where he was born and grew up, passed away peacefully on 16 August 2021, aged 78. Loving husband of Lesley, father to Neil and Leigh and Taid to Dylan, Ryan and Casey. Douglas began his working life at Hawker Siddley in Broughton and spent a period in the 1960s building Mirage Jets in Australia. Returning to Rhyl where he met his future wife Lesley, they and their young family emigrated from Rhyl to Australia in 1978. A talented sportsman, artist, and craftsman, he always remained a proud Welshman. Douglas will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
