DO you have what it takes to pass SAS selection?
Now you can find out as Channel 4 show SAS: Who Dares Wins is looking for new contestants to take part in the next series.
Series six of SAS: Who Dares Wins saw 21 men and women leave the comfort of their homes and head to Scotland for an unforgiving selection course including tasks built around abseiling, freezing water and chemical weapon attacks.
The series came to an end last night (13 June) with only two winners crowned, after six weeks of gruelling tasks and training.
Applications for season seven are already under way and 21 more people will be put through their paces by ex-special forces soldiers Ant Middleton, Jason Fox and Billy Billingham and Melvyn Downes.
Filming is set to take place from 9th Septemeber-26 September so make sure you are completely available for these dates.
However, there is a lot of criteria that needs to be met if you want to apply; if you do not meet these criteria you should not apply for the show.
Here are some of the requirements:
You must be between the ages of 18 and 44 years and 364 days on the 31st October 2021
You must be a British Citizen, Irish Republic Citizen, British Commonwealth Citizen or hold dual nationality with one of the afore-mentioned.
If you are a British Commonwealth Citizen you must have legitimately resided in the UK for a period of 5 years immediately prior to applying to be on the show
You must be at least 158cm (5.1”) tall and weigh at least 50kg (8 stone)
You must not be currently serving in the armed forces.
However, the requirements don’t end there and you must also be able to adhere to some fitness requirements.
They are:
- Full press ups – a minimum of 44 in 2 minutes.
- Full sits up – a minimum of 50 in 2 minutes.
- Static lift onto a platform 1.45m high. This is a progressive test, which will assess the maximum weight you can lift. This is not a pass or fail test.
- Jerry can test– carry two 20kg weights over a distance of 120m in two minutes.
- A Beep test with the level of 10.1. This is the equivalent of a 1.5 mile run in 9 minutes 30 seconds.
If you are not capable of completing this fitness test then please do not apply as you will not be eligible for the series.
