FUTURE journalists were on their best behaviour when they were visited by Darth Vader himself.

Star of the silver screen Spencer Wilding took time out of his busy schedule to visit Bodnant Community School’s inhouse newspaper the Bodnant Bugle.

The reporters were keen to interview the local star on his past projects, current work and aims for the future.

Spencer, originally from Meliden, is an actor, martial artist and specialist in creature performances for some of the biggest and best-known films.

His work has included Star Wars Rogue One where he played Darth Vader, multiple Doctor Who characters, and iconic Harry Potter baddies.

Most recently he appeared in Dungeons and Dragons, and will feature prominently in the forthcoming Toxic Avenger.

The reporting team were keen to discover the secrets to Spencer’s success and how he had been able to navigate his way through the film industry.

The team have then been busy writing up the story to share with all the children in the school through their newspaper.

Bodnant headteacher Mrs Vernon said: “It was lovely to welcome Spencer into school and we are very grateful to him for taking time out to be interviewed. His film work, sporting achievements and personality are an inspiration to our learners.

"We hope by bringing people into school we can inspire our children to follow their dreams and succeed in their ambitions”.
