RHYL are set to significantly bolster their attacking options with the signing of prolific forward Jordan Davies.
The talented striker is set to join the promotion hopefuls subject to international clearance from the English Football Association, and he joins a forward line that includes the likes of Kristian Pierce, Mike Pritchard and James Murphy.
Davies played a leading role in Prestatyn Town’s Huws Gray Alliance title-winning campaign in 2017, finishing as the league’s top scorer to enhance his reputation as one of the brightest young prospects anywhere in the region.
He attracted interest from JD Welsh Premier League heavyweights Connah’s Quay Nomads last summer before eventually joining Nantwich Town, and his arrival comes at the perfect time for a squad that have underachieved to open the campaign.
The Lilywhites face another crucial weekend of action as they look to improve their fortunes, with Eddie Maurice-Jones’ men now 11 points behind runaway early leaders Airbus Broughton after acquiring ten points from their opening seven games.
Former manager Niall McGuinness returns to the Belle Vue Stadium on Tuesday night with his title chasing Flint Town United, before the Lilywhites entertain the league-leading Wingmakers on Saturday (2.30pm).
Speaking after their defeat to Conwy Borough, Maurice-Jones said: “Sloppy mistakes have caught us out again and this is becoming a habit which is hard to say. We work hard in the week and have gone over and over things but we gifted Conwy a goal if not two and we have to learn from those mistakes.
“Confidence has been an issue since I arrived and I’m not sure if it is the big club feel that some are not coping with. Nobody ever means to make a mistake but they need to be braver to pull ourselves out of this run. A few aren’t really pulling their weight and it is difficult to speak like this as they are all good lads.
“The ability is there but we can’t wait around for something to happen and going one down before we wake up and play to our strengths. We have got a tough week ahead and if we want to get anything out of it then we have to improve.”
